SWNGS
is a non-profit organization formed in 1975 whose purpose is to create
and foster interest in genealogy, preserve data and educate members.
Membership is open to anyone. Dues are payable upon application.
Membership runs January 1 thru
December 31.
SWNGS meets the 1st Saturday of each month at 1:00 PM at our library located in the Masonic Building., at 322 Norris Ave, McCook, Nebraska. Take elevator to the second floor, our library is in suites 2 ~ 7 on the left side of the aisle.

SWNGS LIBRARY
SWNGS library contains anything and everything published on McCook and
Red Willow County which includes original District Court Books, original
Marriage applications and license, Index books for marriages, burials,
probates and our own on-going project of Newspaper Abstract books from
1882 to present containing birth announcements, marriage write-ups,
anniversaries, obituaries, family reunions, etc.
McCook Polk City Directories,
various census, including rural school census, many school yearbooks,
various local church histories, Plat map books from 1905, 1923, 1958,
1979 and county directories 1965-1972, along with local military bio
books and various booklets published on individual towns in Red Willow
County.
